I dig it. I need to give it some more attention. For many years I pretty much worshipped Deadbeat, but then he made this shift during the pandemic to be more prolific and release a lot more material and much of it didn't connect with me. At the same time he did that workflow production video and much of the illusion kind of drifted away and now I'm hearing his tropes on so much of his material new and old that I've fallen out of love. That being said, he does still have many many many incredible works. I find his collaborations with Paul St Hillaire to be divine. Drawn & Quartered will always be one of my favorite dub techno records, and just favorite pieces of recorded music to exist. It's really that special to me. I think its fair to just admit that sometimes artists strike some kind of transcendent moment and it's not physically possible to match it at will or on command. It's more on me to not go into his music with my own expectations and baggage. I take responsibility.. and hence.. need to give The Mountain more unbiased attention. I have a playlist I'm slowly building. It's not finished. I'm going back through all of his work and listening to each release with intent and selecting the tracks that have that super special quality. I need to revisit this! Thanks for the reminder. Just glanced at it again and am reminded about how much I liked his remix for Om Unit. Though, CV313's mixes were even more unique and innovative imho! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0Nulj8BoTErJPMhhZnG1To?si=YaltwdcmRL-tP4TnrPgJwg&utm_source=copy-link
