###**This week’s musical references:** --- Welcome back my friends to the show that sadly ends. It’s been a long time since the last episode and I’m pumped for this finale. As the finale is a double feature, this comment is going to be one too. We have the last canon music reference in Part 5 and all the non-canon ones from Purple Haze Feedback. I’ll try to not spoil anything about it just the music references but I won’t post it here directly just in case. So, here’s our last musical reference! --- Scolippi’s Stand, Rolling Stone is a reference to [the rock band The Rolling Stones.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4irXQhgMqg&list=PLP02sRgldWRb9LjuQgJ4AfxCd4cxygDrA) You probably haven’t heard about them, they are a new indie band, so here is some trivia about them: + Their famous tongue logo is said to have been inspired by the Indian Hindu goddess ‘Kali the Destroyer’, although Jagger's own tongue and lips were surely also an influence. + Director Martin Scorsese has used The Stones' 'Gimme Shelter' in three of his films (Goodfellas, Casino, The Departed) and he directed a live concert film for the band called 'Shine A Light', although Gimme Shelter doesn’t appear in it. + Bill Wyman, bass guitarist from 1962 to 1993 reportedly coined the term ‘groupie’ during the Stones' tour of Australia in 1965. Also, he was only invited to join the band because he owned an amplifier. + Keith Richard was long rumoured to have had a full blood transfusion to kick his heroin addiction. In 2010, he was interviewed on CBS news and admitted that he had invented the rumour himself. + Jagger contributed backing vocals and Brian Jones played the oboe on the Beatles' ‘Baby You’re a Rich Man’. In return Lennon and McCartney sang backing vocals on ‘We Love You’. Another Beatles-related trivia is that although they weren't invited to the Beatles’ party to celebrate the release of ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, Keith Richards, Brian Jones and Bill Wyman gate crashed it. + The album cover for ‘Sticky Fingers’ was designed by legendary pop artist Andy Warhol. + The Stones' 1964 eponymous debut album contains only one original song, the Jagger-Richards ‘Tell Me (You’re Coming Back)’. It was only written after Jagger and Richards were locked in a kitchen by then-manager Andrew Oldham and forced to write. + The Stones hired the ‘Hells Angels’ to provide as ‘security’ during one of their free concerts in Altamont. The Angels were paid in $500 worth of free beer to sit by the stage and make sure the crowd didn’t try to approach the band. This got sorely out of hand, resulting in the death of a man called Meredith Hunter, who was stabbed while the Stones were playing. That’s what happens when you hire a racist and violent organized crime syndicate. + Originally called the Rollin’ Stones (the ‘g’ came later) the band named themselves after the Muddy Waters’ track ‘Rollin’ Stones Blues’. ---- In the recap from the beginning of the episode you can hear [Carl Orff’s O Fortuna from the scenic cantata Carmina Burana](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXFSK0ogeg4), which also appears in the ending Modern Crusaders. --- And last but not least, the references in Purple Haze Feedback! [Here is a link to them.](https://justpaste.it/5evqa) --- And that’s everything from me, it was fun doing this comments. The musical references in JoJo are one of my favourite aspects in all the series and I love sharing them with everyone. I plan to do the same thing whenever Part 6’s anime get released and I may add the fashion references to the mix. Also, here is my other JoJo project: [How many pages in total JoJo has](https://www.reddit.com/r/StardustCrusaders/comments/8dekq3/ive_counted_how_many_pages_jojo_has/), which was updated recently. Also, I’m doing a project where I count how many times each character in JoJo appear in the manga, I’ve recently ended with Part 1, so it will take its time to finish. And I’ve got to shill [my Spotify playlist I made recently with every Spanish Prog band in Spotify.](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0WBpJ0E70XXHaP5cTjAwFp?si=guTkJPjPTrO9fQ6v38UA-w) There are 300 bands and artist in the playlist. There’s some pretty good stuff for fans of prog there. See you soon! --- Do you want to listen to all this fantastic references from this wonderful anime in just one place? Of course you want! Now you can with [TarkusELP Officially Approved by Araki himself* Spotify Playlist](https://open.spotify.com/user/1140698944/playlist/2O4TFgiVXERVcY2VsYcHq8?si=av4QkqFqQ0erijRqFbk3wA) with all the musical references in the anime, the ones it skipped, the light novels ones and more!
