I mean yes. Have we all heard it a thousand times? Yes. Do we like that's it's popularized a rather superficial facet of Jazz? No. Is it white privilege them having been so famous above many better bands and ensambles? Probably. But is it a great composition? Yes. It's great. Paul Desmond sounds like skating on clouds and he deserves much better than the mistrust, wariness and scepticism he gets for having written Take Five, he is a genius above and beyond Brubeck and nobody ever sounded better in an alto imo.
