She was heavily promoted by TVP (state media corporation that organised the voting event) before the competentition and her back-up dancers belong to one of the juries's dance studio. If she won that would bring them more $. Also voting rules were changed shortly before the event and it looks like they set up the competition so that Blanka would win, regardless of how the audience voted. Jann isn't from a big studio and doesn't have any connections, he was kinda a dark horse. It is said that the jury deliberately gave him few points so that he had no chance of winning, even if he had won TV voting. The controversy made him popular. His [song](https://youtu.be/pgs4KeaEsBk) got [1st](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZEVXbN6itCcaL3Tt) on top 50 in Poland on Spotify overnight and he sold tickets for his very first tour in a day. At the event itself the audience was booing at the decision. It isn't comfirmed, but it seems Jann got 18k votes and Blanka only 6k. One of the juries [confirmed](https://www.instagram.com/p/CpUcUcFsrR4/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=) that some voted as TVP wanted them to, and not for the best performance. So people are mad and there's a lot of negative comments under her [performance](https://youtu.be/ANM4CwbE0Is). The video got 4216 likes and 46 440 dislikes (92%). Her [music video](https://youtu.be/PvQRpV1-ZhY) got more dislikes in a week than likes in 5 months, even though it had 12 mln views. There's also [petition](https://www.petycjeonline.com/jann_na_eurowzij_2023) to get Jann to Eurovision that got 75k signatures. Whole thing became political beacuse it isn't the first time TVP is accused of nepotism and corruption. Overall, it's a mess. This is a simplification, as the scandal has a lot of threads and one would have to make a full article to explain all of this. There is also a matter of Jann's image conflicting with the conservative, anti-LBT agenda of Polish goverment that funds TVP etc... Oh, and what adds flavour to the matter is that Jann's song is about [corruption and nepotism](https://genius.com/Jann-pol-gladiator-lyrics) in showbussiness. If it hadn't been released five months ago, I'd be sure it was a disstrack on TVP and Blanca.
