Of my top 5 most listened songs this year, Crossroads was #2 and Labyrinth was #4. Armin Van Buuren is my #1 artist every single year on Spotify no matter what. It's because he makes a radio show every single week, and I listen to it every single week. Spotify treats his radio show as an album with like 50+ tracks on it. A lot of those tracks are just people talking between songs, and he counts as the artist on those tracks. Cheating! I also listened to A LOT of future funk this year. If anything comes from this post, I hope someone discovers and enjoys this awesome genre of music. If I have to describe it, it's a combo of French House/Disco, Vaporwave, and Japanese City Pop rolled into one. I'm not going to lie, I have to say that there are KPop releases from other people this year that I liked more than any of what GFriend did. LA DI DA by EVERGLOW might be my favorite KPop track of 2020. However, GFriend simply had a lot of releases this year compared to other groups. And everything they've ever released is great, so it goes right onto my playlists. Once a song is on the playlists, it naturally just gets played a lot. That being said, I wish we had a similar thing to Spotify wrapped for YouTube. I definitely watch more GFriend videos on YouTube than for any other KPop group. Neverending thanks to everyone out there doing subtitles.
