I have a similar taste in music and not long ago I was in your position, looking for French music to help me learn the language. First and most importantly, Stereolab. People already mentioned them, but it's a fucking awesome band, don't skip it. The most well known albums are Emperor Tomato Ketchup and Dots and Loops, if I'm not mistaken. On a psychedelic pop vibe there's Melody's Echo Chamber. Not every song is in French, but it's enough to help you studying (it was for me). Gorgeous project, affiliated to Tame Impala. I like a band called Fraçois and the Atlas Mountain. It's kinda rock pop-y, from the bands you mentioned it's closer to Wilco. The album Solid Mirage has great tunes. There's Les Rita Mitsouko. I don't think they sound very indie, but the song[ C'est Comme Ça](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGrCRA9CX78) alone is worth it, absolute killer track. There's the indie label/collective called La Souterraine. They are composed of young bands trying to foment an independent French music scene. I did not find a lot I liked there, but I thought it was worth mentioning. They have Spotify playlists that will help you knowing their bands. But in the end I ended up listening more to classic French artists like Serge Gainsbourg and Jacques Dutronc. I'll just say there's a reason they are classics. I compiled a Spotify playlist with a dozen or so random French songs that caught my interest, you might want to check it out to decide what bands caught your attention. I'm sure you will find something there that you like, and then I recommend that you use Spotify's recommendation engines to get to know even more stuff you like.
