Japan has an incredibly rich indie scene that gets nearly no attention. There are so many acts playing shows every night in tiny livehouses (Shimokitazawa and Koenji are the livehouse hubs in Tokyo) and the average level of quality is absurdly high. I go to gigs several times a week because I love making new discoveries.
