Sometimes I find that finding an entry point to a band though a few songs is easier than diving straight into the albums (just a personal thing). How to approach this would depend on your own personal music taste. The great thing about Queen is they covered an extremely broad range of music styles and genres, so there is likely an entry point for most anyone who is interested. If you like rock you are on a good track to dive into Queen! A few non Greatest Hits songs I would recommend based on the genres you mentioned might be: ["Tie Your Mother Down"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0AnkC4V4CXY) ["Stone Cold Crazy"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=S0kTkxhyWNo) ["Brighton Rock"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BUt_7TQCWtU) ["Sheer Heart Attack"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rkHF_JMnB8o) ["She Makes Me (Stormtroopers in Stilettos)"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=i5xBeuB01jc) ["Sail Away Sweet Sister"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kGXsIt4l1Tg) ["Long Away"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2CeO8I0cwQo) ["Drowse"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JcXxYWEbBEE) ["Action This Day"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LHt5hxYVZac) (I especially love [this song live ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KwRJy8XaLLY)) If you want to get into the more epic/prog type stuff I will throw out: ["Ogre Battle"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7p-5CgWP7Iw) ["Great King Rat"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VHC85XWII7E) ["White Queen"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Nx_SVPiXnWM) ["March of the Black Queen"](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SoBMhx_ap_g) If you are also interested in learning about the band and their story and background, I can recommend two fun podcasts: 1. [The Queen Podcast ](https://open.spotify.com/show/0dxBRfCcRLiEUybOoj3W5o) in which they are working their way through the entire discography album by album. The Queen Podcast is also creating a [corresponding playlist ](http://open.spotify.com/playlist/6BbMvrsV0b5JtVAnStgZA6) where they choose one non-greatest hits song from each side of each album. If you explore this playlist along with Greatest Hits vol. 1 & 2 you will start getting a great feel for the band. 2. [Recovering Queen](https://open.spotify.com/show/33bvVqhITHNeiPPhqIZwb3) where they are working their way through covering the entire Queen catalog one song at a time, in no particular order. You might not want to dive into this one until you have built up a decent familiarity with Queen's work. If you do explore this one I recommend listening to the relevant song before listening to the episode. If you aren't interested in the covers just listening to the conversation about the song sometimes causes me to appreciate songs I didn't particularly care for before even as a Queen fan. You can just stop the episode before the cover if that part isn't of interest to you, they always play it at the end. Sorry for this long comment. Clearly I got carried away πŸ™†β€β™€οΈ Good luck ☺️ I hope you enjoy the music!
