Chumbawamba - 30 years of work. Started as an anarcho-punk band, got popular with a one hit wonder 90s pop song, went semi 90s electronic, ended their career being a folk band. The sound is definitely different than Swans. Here’s my [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6HxZZ55TjYb8buIola2Yd9?si=2NsefwOuTkigm8SM5MH88A) of their best of. Nick Cave - 40 years of work. Started off in The Birthday Party being distinctly post-punk with free jazz and rockabilly elements. Cave switched to his more solo work with the Bad Seeds, moving away from the post-punk sound throughout the years into dark blues, art rock, ballads, etc. Later ventured into doing soundtrack work with the dude from Dirty Three, Warren Ellis, and has an extended catalogue of that work. Later did Grinderman as a more basic rock outfit. I think Swans fans generally like his stuff though the sound is not similar. Here’s my [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3XjQmfJ8CvDYqKjb8YBw6o?si=2iBPQXvNST--IXYIKvU9wQ) of his best of. Tuxedomoon - 30 plus years. Another post-punk outfit that ventured into lots of different genres including new wave, synth, chamber and ambient, and generally experimental stuff. I can’t recommend them enough though again, their sound is nothing like Swans. Here’s my [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6SHYPb3fM2KvoTgqG4i8F7?si=AELCP-qmQPWKKz0m1EFkdQ) of their best of. Laurie Anderson - 30 plus years. Generally “avant-garde”, which is just generally experimental rock, experimental compositions and electronic stuff. Dabbling in 80s pop rock that catches the more mainstream ear here and there, though her discography is generally all over the place in genres. Here’s my [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/70nCkwxwJtQrnC98RfJiqI?si=OKeaFmxuTiSJMaeMWhGCuQ) of her best of. Not similar to Swans. Danny Brown - over a decade of work that dabbles in lots of different rap sub genres. He’s gotten pretty experimental as far as accessible rap goes through the short time he’s been in the game. He recently teamed up with JPEGMAFIA which is a very experimental rap artist that often gets lumped in with [Death Grips](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6U59pl27X8RgInCSA8QJ4j?si=qtkI3X1eQnSn4o3ReB3vkg) and [Clipping](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3jrIsZTQRvELOoOr23MMUT?si=8VaxevouQKeA4044xgixkQ). Here’s my best of [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3TF91f8fak01h6SMfCdzQ5?si=zFXuBvN7SU6ozQqgTyOtng) of his. Not similar to Swans. Moor Mother - less than 10 years of work, but her collaborations and dabbling in different genres from jazz and free jazz to hip-hop and punk rock is wild. I can’t recommend her enough which is why I made a [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/08Dgf38kUSN7BxkqcB6BeR?si=vqKDteTVRnWm4xJZo-o1Nw) to rep her extreme variety. Not similar to Swans. Calexico - almost 30 years of work. Alternative country, southwestern country, jazz and post-punk influences hidden in their discography. One of the best alt. country outfits around with enough work to sort through to get that subtle genre switching fix. Here’s a [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2dmcjNJAnZY5fDt3LVi7wp?si=yMWKtqbsQFWwaZf4joBegw) I made for their best of. Not similar to Swans. Bill Callahan - 30 years of work. Dabbles in alt. country more so in recent years, his early work as the band Smog has a lot of experimental and lo-fi work that’s a strong contrast against his more accessible stuff in later years. A large body of work between his project Smog and the Bill Callahan title. Here’s my [playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4EqwLFdlfvWOjmKZKgrplz?si=v5jJSPDRSdWz3A_gV2uQOg) of his best of. Not similar to Swans. Other obvious honorable mentions that fit your prompt which I have playlists for: [The Beatles](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/03MbA73mCWBpF2VLQ1JgzQ?si=jdJtH3QsRiKINnDEwBgvjQ), [Radiohead](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/17XNjg00d8pjfdkMEVnY0L?si=mheG4SnzQ9OuS_jsOLMepg)
