I like to listen to ethereal or unsettling ambient music while reading. Ambient industrial works too, as long as it's not too heavy sounding. The music of Akira Yamaoka (the composer for the Silent Hill games) is a good example of the kind of music that I think contributes nicely to the horror ambience.
