Bikini Kill is my all time favorite! They make Riot Grrrl (thats what the genre is really called) music. if you are curious about the movement and/or the band, their vocalist, Kathleen Hanna, also has a documentary called the Punk Singer. They basically started the 3rd wave feminism and Kathleen was the first one to come up with the name Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as they were very close friends with Kurt Cobain, here how she tells the [story](https://youtu.be/xWO4JnP2T40) Kathleen is also married to Bestie Boys' own Adam Horowitz, what a power couple! Similar founding Riot Grrrl Bands include Bratmobile, 7 Year Bitch, L7, Red Aunts etc. Bikini Kill vocalist and guitarist are now in another band called Julie Ruin, its a rather less heavy and more synth-based band. Im sorry I kind of vomited information here, I'm just too passionate and I couldn't stop myself. We also have a sub called r/RiotGrrrl but it is terribly inactive. If you want to find more Riot Grrrl bands I have been working on this playlist for sometime. There are new ones like Skater Polly or really old ones that are from the 70s like X-Rey Spex.
