\*Zombie\* \- 1 oz Jamaican Rum \- 1/2 oz Overproof Aged Rum \- 1/2 oz Cinnamon Syrup \- 1 oz Grapefruit Juice \- 3/4 oz Lime Juice Made this damn good approximation of a Zombie from Punch’s book Easy Tiki. We weren’t certain which recipe we would use for the project so we made both but ultimately went the easy route. Most people, myself included, probably think of the 1994 Cranberries hit when they think of Zombie songs but to me that’s not at all how this drink makes me feel. So we put together a mix with Fela Kuti’s Zombie and the genre he established. This mix is rhythmic American style jazz/funk paired with traditional African sounds and contains classic artists as well as contemporary. For fans of African influenced artists like Talking Heads, Paul Simon, and Vampire Weekend.
