For nearly a month I have been curating a playlist that explores feminism, female empowerment, and celebrates female artists. I've called it [Future Female](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7Cs43xdq6iuiBneMUWF0Ec) I got inspired to make it when my friend was having girl trouble and wanted help making a "Fuck Bitches" playlist Ben Folds, Snoop Dogg, Eminem etc. I realized I didn't listen to music like that but more female positive stuff. I later told him that even if his intention is "I don't need a woman to be happy", which is true, that kind of language is harmful. Even the small things that seem harmless can contribute to the overall toxic culture if we aren't careful and examine ourselves. This playlist tells a story starting with songs that are upbeat and fun but still thought provoking. We move from hip hop and synth pop into punk and things get more serious. The middle section features metallic hardcore and dark/doom rock touching on heavy subjects, some songs that even made me hold back tears. There is then a reprieve, followed by hope for the future, and a party! I really enjoyed putting this together and feel it is a creative effort representative of my heart. Please listen and tell me what you think. I really want this to get shared and discussed.
