Dude, my wife does the exact same thing with her music students. I don't know the exact flow, but she plays a good bit of what she wants them to hear and then also takes requests, with the caveat that her kids have to talk about *why* they like something. I tried going through different ideas in my head, but then I saw /u/nerdybunhead's Spotify playlist below, and it reminded me: Back at the end of 2019, I submitted a [monthly FFFFFFAF post of my favorite music from 2010-2019.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Reformed/comments/e71qx8/ffaf_ciroflexos_favorite_music_of_the_2010s/) If you want to see descriptions of the bands and styles, you can read the list. (It's mostly albums, but for each album I have a few suggested tracks.) But the cool thing was that /u/nerdybunhead actually turned my list into [a Spotify playlist.](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7G1oqihZPrF2jsQTmKZ8ks) So, it's only music from the 2010's, but's it's a decently good sample of stuff I enjoyed and found interesting (within the mostly rock/pop world).
