A few notes… 1. This mock is assuming that the 2020 lineup happens in October, Weekend 1 of 2021 or whenever. Please spare us your “CoAcHeLlA iSn’T hApPeNiNg ThIs YeAr YoU fOoLs” comments. Seriously, STFU. We’re all aware of the reality of the situation so please stop shitting in our cereal every moment you can. Let us just have some fun here. 2. My original headliner trio was Adele/Rihanna/Kendrick but after some thought, I just don’t see Rihanna headlining the same year as Adele. 2021 headliners could be tough since some of the obvious candidates might already be out with rescheduled LA dates like Billie Eilish and Post Malone. Metallica is probably the last great LA band yet to play Coachella and they’re an act that doesn’t need to be on an album cycle to play Coachella given their legacy. I’m guessing Coachella may be trying to book at least one rock headliner if possible (considering they originally had MCR which was an odd fit) and given 2021’s murky situation, Metallica could be a good option. 3. I included 2020 artists on here that may not be scheduled to play in October. I don’t know what will happen but this is assuming they’re already confirmed for 2021.
