Hey people I consider friends, it’s been a few weeks since my show and I’m stalling on doing homework on a couch right now so I figured I would do my prep/show write up lol. I was coached by the one and only Goob/John/Egg Guy/ Goob U. Diet/Cardio consisted of egg whites, eggs, chicken/beef, oats, and peanut butter for 12 weeks, with leaves and grass at my own discretion. We started at 2500 cals, and by peak week it was down to a deathly 1100. Goob always favored fats to carbs (which sucked bc I consider carbs a close friend, maybe family even) Cardio during prep gradually increased from 20 minutes to 100 minutes of cardio daily by then end. I did almost strictly LISS, on a treadmill at an incline. I got through this by watching lots of different Netflix shows that I would get bored of after 3 episodes and would switch to something else. The week of my show was pretty great, and I spent a substantial amount of time watching the Office between meals. A few days out from my show, I was accepted into my dream school, James Madison University. Peak Week, involved the usual. Water/Sodium, then water cut and carb loading before the show. I truly consider show day one of the greatest experiences of my life. I met another rbber Conor at 3 am for breakfast, God knows why he was awake at the time. I went straight to the hotel there for my tan and the athletes meeting afterwards, making sure to manage rice cakes every hour before stage time. I actually had never had rice cakes in my life before this week. The bikini chicks took so long I actually ended up pumping up for like an hour straight lol. Once I got on stage it was incredible. Being under the stage lights in front of the full crowd had me on high, and my mood did not come down until I didn’t make first callouts lol. Got off stage and immediately FaceTimed Goob and told him I probably placed 6th or 7th. I was obviously down in the dumps a lot, and disappointed in myself. I had received such high expectations from friends/peers and, I felt like I had let them down. I just got out-massed. I was on stage at 5’10, 170, while the top 5 in my class all had between 20-40lbs on me. Goob and my friends helped me to keep my head, which I really needed bc truthfully I was beating myself up a lot. I went to grab a burger and some fries (which I also really needed), and went back to the hotel where I ran into Goob. My coach had driven 4 hours from Pittsburgh to meet me before finals. We went over my finals routine a few times before the stage, and I gotta say he’s really a stand-up guy. I had a couple other rbber friends come thru as well to see the routine. I got really lucky and went on stage for my routine right after Kevin Levrone so I’m pretty sure there was not a pose in my arsenal that could impress a soul in that crowd. I posed to Rains of Castamere because I’m a nerd and once again had an amazing time. The whole stage and crowd was mine for 70 seconds. Really felt like a superstar for that time. EVERYBODY KNOWS I WANTED CHEESECAKE FACTORY AND IM JUST GONNA SAY HERE EVERY CHEESECAKE FACTORY WITHIN 45 MINUTES HAD A 4-5 HOUR WAIT WHICH I DIDNT KNOW WAS POSSIBLE, anyways I committed carbicide regardless and had 5000 calories within 4 hours. Lots of donuts/ihop/cookies. This was a great experience, and again I wanna add I couldn’t have done this with Goob who kept me in the game mentally, did everything I didn’t know how to, and pushed me every step of the way. If you need a coach do yourself a favor and go that way. Don’t let my placing scare you lol he just had two clients claim first place finishes yesterday. I’m just a failure tbh. My placing indicated obviously I’m just too small. This off season will be a long bulk and focusing on compound movements/my weak points (which revolves around my lack of focus on compounds lol).
