Oh man. Do I got you. Nickel Creek - they are amazing and their first album is more traditional while later ones get more experimental. Their reunion tour was stupendous. I'm With Her - Sarah Jarosz, Sara Watkins (from Nickel Creek) and Aoife O'Donovan have started making music together and it's heavenly. Check out their solo stuff too, especially Jarosz. I saw them live in Paris, it was heavenly. Phoebe Bridgers - I also see her mentioned in other comments, she's great to cross from folk to acoustic-rock-influenced music. Some of the boygenius EP (with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus) may fit what you're looking for too. The Punch Brothers - Chris Thile (from Nickel Creek) made his own band that does some pretty crazy stuff. I would recommend The Phosphorescent Blues especially. Neko Case - I see case/lang/veirs in another comment, but I want to plug for Neko's solo stuff. She's so talented and Blacklisted, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood and Middle Cyclone are true gems.
