I'll try, though mine's guaranteed not be the best possible answer, I've only been a fan for a year or two Easiest to hardest, I guess: Dennis, super easy to tell because his voice is imo the deepest of the band. Also his voice has a noticeable gravelly quality. There's another aspect to his voice I can't quite think how to describe, but I want to call it 'monotone'. Of course he has great pitch and range, but something about his timbre makes me think 'monotone', like a certain sameness to the sound of his voice idk Examples of Dennis sounding very Dennis-y: Forever, Do You Wanna Dance, I'll Bet He's Nice. Be sure to check out his solo album Mike is ostensibly the band's lead singer and his voice is pretty distinctive in that it's (famously) nasally, often high-pitched (especially in the early years), and also in the early years it tended to be a more 'rock' voice. He might be my favorite singer in the band just because I think his voice is really great. But [here's a playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/221F26U2MH6JOHV2UHKvLF?si=1031311b90e24bd5) of some of him but you'll probably recognize him pretty fast Then I'd say Carl's voice is next most distinctive. But between him, Brian, and Al, they all sound kinda similar to each other until you develop an ear for telling them apart. But imo Carl's voice stands out a little more because a) he has kind of a strong accent? Like how he sings "that" in the line "that's where we wanna go", in Kokomo, that slight contour or whatever on the word "that", you can hear that accent all over the place with him. b) very sweet, smooth, and soft voice. The track "I Can Hear Music" is the quintessential example of this. Also Feel Flows, again his part on Kokomo. Darlin' is him in rare form but him nonetheless (he's all over Wild Honey with that funky proto-Frank Black voice), Time To Get Alone. But he also sometimes sings it straight a lot more, like on God Only Knows and Surf's Up's version of Surf's Up (nearly replicates Brian. Sometimes I can't tell him and Brian apart.) Brian... Brian is complicated. I don't think I could do it justice, because he's had a bunch of different styles really. But there's a reediness, and kind of a sourness to his singing voice that I think has remained consistent. He's not sweet like Mike, or super smooth like Carl. Lonely Sea, Hawaii, Wouldn't It Be Nice, Surfer Girl, She Knows Me Too Well... Al I straight up still can't tell apart even when I know it's his lead. Help Me Rhonda, I Know There's An Answer... Cotton Fields I feel like you can hear his individuality a little... Susie Cinncinnati, Then I Kissed Her... I'd say he sounds like an even reedier Brian Wilson, almost like the most Beach Boys-y Beach Boys voice. Man I actually was sure he sang lead on Sloop John B with Mike, perfect example. That's Brian and Mike, haha. Here's a Spotify playlist of his leads, apparently. Not sure about the accuracy. I need to listen to it. Dennis opens, Brian takes the next line. Dennis returns. Those two trade off like that for the verses. Then Carl does the bridge: "baby don't you ever tell me that you're leaving", etc.
