Idk who else is going to make the cliche end of the year post but like, it’s pretty incredible looking back at 10 years worth of music right at the end of the decade. Even half way through in 2015 I couldn’t have even imagined half of the music I would encounter in the next 5 years. It’s even weirder as somebody who’s young and didn’t even start listening to music until 2014. I have kept the same playlist since then (the playlist only joining Spotify in 2016) and I have not changed a single thing from this point. It’s interesting looking at a playlist that starts out with “Bohemian Rhapsody” and things like “Best Day of My Life” and Imagine Dragons that just keeps going six years later. I have since added 6,300 songs and I’m so hyped to see what I’ll be adding in all these upcoming years, as well as just where things will go next. Here’s to 10 more years of shitty (and sometimes good) “indie” music.
