When I first got Spotify, I made a playlist called "Nice Songs" (creative, I know) and I just added every song that I'd ever liked to it. Songs I'd heard on the radio as a kid, songs I had rediscovered, songs I've always liked etc. But I had a habit of just playing the most recently added tracks, over and over until I get bored, then I would either go hunting for new music or just listen to an album. I found it difficult to listen to the playlist on shuffle because of the variances in each song. I haven't used it or updated it in probably a year now, but I think I'll get round to doing so eventually. Here's a link if anyone is interested. https://open.spotify.com/user/113345972/playlist/2PjiDaVQhoIxUTwY0vJ7su In regards to themes in my music choices, some are tied to pleasant memories, upsetting memories, I can use these to illicit certain feelings or to emphasise/help me realise emotions I'm feeling at the time. I also like listening to instrumental music because it's easy listening, and I can define my own mood and the song's mood. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of trip hop and discordant tracks, examples being Zodiac Shit by Flying Lotus, or Talamak by Toro y Moi. I prefer melodies with unique chords that don't follow the "4 chord template".
