Spent the day painting rooms and listening to new albums so have listened to quite a bit. *Baths - False B-Sides II* is a solid collection of tracks, showcases a lot of different sides of Baths and is less overly busy and thickly produced as *Romaplasm*. Will does ambient pop so well, love when he works in that mode. *Heads. - Push* clicked pretty instantly, blended Metz / Daughter / Shellac / Big Bite vibes. Quite a striking record and definitely one I'll be returning to. *Painted Zeros - When You Found Forever.* Floats somewhere in that middle ground between dream pop, shoegaze, and straight-up indie rock. Fuck My Life feels anthemic. Funnily enough was really great painting music. Also Don Giovanni Records is the best. *Deerhoof - Future Teenage Cave Artists*. Had a lot of fun with this one, Deerhoof records are always such engaging off-kilter listens. "Sympathy for Baby Boo" and "'Farewell' Symphony" were stand-outs on my first play-through. *Shawn Wasabi - Mangotale.* The amount of care Shawn Wasabi puts into his production & hooks is always apparent and I've been waiting on a record from him for a hot minute. Some of these tracks can get kind of Target-commercial sounding, but when he embraces a more eccentric palette things really pop (ex. tokyo tea, princess peach, love potion). + Marble Tea is still a total stunner. *Subsonic Eye - Bedroom Sessions*. These guys sound great stripped back like this. Sunny, pure bedroom jams. *Mrs. Piss - Self Surgery.* What can I even say. This shit rips and I wish it was longer. Also that album art holy hell.
