I actually want people to see my playlists. I put a lot of time into listening to music and I like seeing people like the things I like. I really like letting other people discover music through me. I'm just afraid I'm pushing music on people too hard - it could put them on the spot and prevent them from fully enjoying otherwise good material. It feels a lot more like recommending books than letting them read my diary anyway. Unless it's a real special song. Or if I'm kind of ashamed of liking some popular thing and my discerning friend shows up, then yeah, I hide things from him for the greater good.
