People who say that are talking about the "mainstream hits". Obviously there's still great music, but let's compare 2021 to, let's say 2003. No way in hell you think ANY song on that second list comes close to just the first 3 songs on the 2nd. And you could go 2020 vs 2006, 2019 vs 2008 etc. MAINSTREAM SINGLES are just not good anymore.
