No, you don't understand something. There literarily isn't a fair shake. It doesn't exist. Spotify isn't making a dollar of every cent a musician makes. Even if it was split 50/50 Spotify wouldn't be making any money off most musicians on the platform. That's just the truth. An average Spotify user pays $7 a month. $7/53= $0.13 per user. Now nobody listens to just 53 artists, a more realistic average is between 150-200. The money is only reducing. You aren't the first person to think about this. Jay-z created a streamlined service with "fair pay" it ended up costing $11 and had around 80 artists. Piracy immediately killed it. People want a large library, that's what they pay for, not individual music. So you will be getting pennies because that's literally all there is.
