Scotland actually has a huge music scene especially given how many people are in the country and its incredibly varied. The biggest artists by far is Lewis Capaldi, Calvin Harris and CHVRCHES, another success in recent years is Gerry Cinamon and with him came Dylan John Thomas. Big bands include: Mogwai*, Fatherson, Frightened Rabbit (RIP), Teenage Fanclub*, Jesus and The Marychain*, Texas and Gun. A lot of the bands in Glasgow that are "underground" or on the edge of breaking are a lot more punk based or goth influenced: Declan Welsh and the Decadent West, Lucia and the Best Boys, V.LURE*, The Ninth Wave*, The Snuts, Baby Strange, Helicon, Snash, Spyres, Walt Disco, The Van Ts, Jessica Winter, Joesef, The Plastic Youth*, Life Model*, and Fauves*. The electronic scene, in particular techno is pretty strong thanks to subclub: Slam, Jackmaster, Hudson Mohawk, Makeness, Jasper James and Optimo Other than that its bagpipes and you can just deal with it like the rest of us. The * marks bands that I would suggest showcase more shoegaze influences but might not be as true to the genre.
