Oh, K/DA isn't hyperpop in the slightest. They make pretty standard pop music (which isn't a slight against them.) I feel like part of the problem is that people confuse embracing the aesthetics of the internet & the digital age as being all there is to hyperpop as a genre, which isn't the case. I do think Savage by Aespa is probably the closest we've gotten to hyperpop in kpop (unless there are some less popular songs I'm missing,) but even that airs more on the side of being hyperpop-inspired rather than straight up hyperpop. I wish I could explain it in more official terms, but to me, hyperpop is all about songs that sound like metal hitting metal and cheap doll plastic. In a good way! Hyperpop sonically embraces all of the "fakeness" that pop music is commonly criticized for—like heavy voice modulation, over produced music, sugary saccharine tones—and pushes them to the nth degree. It's like the musical equivalent of getting an unnatural looking boob job on purpose. There's often an element of irony and self depreciation to the lyrics in hyperpop songs, but it's not a necessarily required. This playlist is actually a pretty good cursory introduction to the genre: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DXakZCf7SV1CS?si=1D14fv7AThGVdK2iIBWccA&utm_source=copy-link
