What kind of stuff do you like normally? If you’re looking for something more melodic I recommend power metal, specifically Sabaton, Powerwolf and Amaranthe. Sabaton sing about history, and is my personal favourite band. Powerwolf sings about Christianity, but is not the typical Christian music you might think of. Amaranthe is a bit more “technical” you could say, i.e they use more synths to get a more “digital” sound. They also mix vocals with growling, which could be a good way to get used to growling And if you want to start more hardcore you could say, then In Flames is a band I recommend.
