*Silver Monk* - 2 oz Blanco Tequila - 3/4 oz Yellow Chartreuse - 3/4 oz Lime Juice - 1/2 oz Simple Syrup - 8 Mint Leaves - 2 Slices of Cucumber - Pinch of Salt This recipe comes from Death & Co and pretty much follows the formula for a Maid (spirit, lime, simple, cucumber and mint) with the addition of Yellow Chartreuse. The resulting drink is deliciously vegetal and very much spring in a glass. Sometimes the music we pick for a drink almost picks itself, this one wasn’t quite the case. The pairing here is in reference to The Monks only studio record Black Monk Time. In 2006 a tribute album/film was compiled and called Silver Monk Time. The tunes are where 60’s garage nuggets started to turn into 70’s Punk. For fans of The Stooges, The Sonics, and The Seeds.
