My wedding is not before 2-3 years, but I already started creating my playlists. The string one to be played before the ceremony, and the piano one, during the cocktail/reception or something like that. I tried to add songs from different eras so it suits people between 30-70 yo. I put the playlist by myself as my fiance doesn't really listen to music. Both are not final. I have only sorted the dancing playlist. With the crossfade in spotify, the transition fits quite well.
