From someone whose started and stopped way more than I'd like to admit - here's a nugget of information you should keep in mind: 1. Loosing fat is a lot faster than gaining muscle, but it still takes consistency with your diet. 2. Do something everyday to move you in that direction 3. Don't punish yourself for a mistake. Instead, learn from them. 4. People will be happy for you, but a lot of people will try to discredit your work so that they feel better about themselves (Reinforcing their mentality that it's impossible to do). 5. Don't trust the scale. It's a fickle mistress. 6. Don't trust Electric Body fat measurements. It's an even more fickle mistress. 7. Do trust the way you feel. The way the pants feel. 8. Overall, trust the pictures you take. Do your best to be constant in how you take them (Same Lighting, same time, same clothes, etc...) 9. Invest money into it. Money is a tool to get what you need to be successful. I recommend Wireless headphones - you'll never go back to wired afterwards. Wrist Straps for back exercises (when your grip fails on you, but you know you've got more reps in you). Locker - for keeping bath stuff, and other things that you don't want to "forget" and then throw you off the workout. This has happened to me a lot- like headphones. If I forget my wireless headphones, or they're dead from not being charged, I notice that It's nearly impossible for me to really get focused during prime hours where it becomes a socialization area. I make sure to keep a set of wired headphones (It's a lesson I learned about myself when I failed one time.) **Getting real about working out:** It's a long road and it's really easy to go about the motivation in a group. But where the rubber meets the road and the hard work and iron determination is how you'll get there. First- Find something that you can hold on to, mentally, to power you through the agonizing burning pain. If you're anything like me - I tend to make quite a bit of racket when my legs are burning and shaking, and wanting to buckle. Later, you'll yearn for the burn. You'll stop counting reps as a whole, and only start counting burning reps. You'll want more of it- the tightness. the sensation of your body giving way to the sheer mental strength that you've imposed on it. And you've made it out alive. Crawling and wobbling like a new baby fawn. But you've got it. Sorry... I got to thinking about Leg day today. I can't wait for tomorrow morning. :) Good luck man. if you're on spotify, here's my playlist that I listen to while I pound out the reps. Metal and Rock mostly. Both men and women singers - because women can belt it just as well as the men do. https://open.spotify.com/user/1267031011/playlist/4YbqMsLMe5wFG3yEo9LRT9
