* Name: Alyn Velx * Fandom: Red Queen, Victoria Aveyard (Wall of text incoming, I am sorry...) Alyn Velx is one of two last surviving members of an old silver High House of Norta. Their dying bloodline carries an ability that allows them to feel and influence the emotions of people around them. Carriers of the ability are called Links. The house branded traitors and stripped of their fortune, allowed to exist in the shadows, half-forgotten and mere servants. As such servants, Alyn's father made a deal with the Queen Elara Merandus, advertising his service and bargaining his son into her service and care at a very young age. He becomes a tool, a friend and a confidant to Prince Maven, or so he believes. In the end, there's less of the boy he grew up with and though Alyn is very loyal and compassionate, they lose the last seams holding their relationship. When he finally does step out of Maven's shadow he gets sent to prison and returns after the prison falls. He returns to court to find his sister and starts playing his own games, scheming. Alyn is a rather oddity when it comes to the mostly astonishing good looks and prowess of silver people, especially at court. He's small and thin, with nerves shaking due to anxiety and depression. He is also not a conventional handsome young man, with circles and red rings like bruises around his eyes, and he does not acknowledge court etiquette for the longest time, wearing the faded green that used to belong to house velx. His fighting skills are nonexistent due to being locked in and hidden all his life, and his weak health did not increase his chances to ever be. However, he is very skilled as an emotional manipulator. He dismisses that power for a long time, feeling too much guilt to use it properly. ​ Alyn is a relatively conflicted character to write. I can't really talk about all the history and background I have given him over the story. After the course of 150k a lot has changed. He used to be compassionate, compliant, bitter sometimes, but trying hard to save everyone he could save. Including his childhood friend and the unrequited love of his life. He had trauma and mental illness that got even worse over the course of the events. He started to drink and took drugs from an early stage of his , life. Now that he has shattered his old beliefs he has hardened, bantering for power and playing the game on Court. However his trauma is worse than ever, with nightmares, psychosomatic pain that makes him limp(in a place of physical flawless that sticks out) and panic attacks and flashbacks. He tells himself he will never be what the people controlling and forming him want him to be.
