Her's a link to a Spotify playlist of the songs mentioned in this thread. A couple of notes: 1. I did not include the majority of the metal songs in this thread because the top comments all consisted of songs which I felt set a different "end of the world" tone. 2. I do not know all of these songs so some of them still may be thematically awkward when heard alongside the majority of other songs on the playlist. 3. When an artist was mentioned more than twice I stopped including new songs mentioned by that artist in order to avoid over saturating the playlist with a handful of really popular artists. 4. I didn't include the Britney Spears song...I don't care how many upvotes it got. Make your own goddamn list if you want it on there. 5. I stopped adding songs once I realized that the remaining songs all had one upvote or less. With all of the caveats out of the way.
