Oh man is it refreshing to see someone who has taste like this. I'm tired of seeing the same twenty albums on rotation in the hip hop vinyl sub (I get it, everyone is buying *DAMN* but how many times do I need to see a photo of that?) I am a huge jazz, soul, and funk fan. This is how I got into hip hop in the first place actually - it was the ultimate genre for me because it *finds* and appreciates the art in these genres and uses them to make something new. So I'm a die hard fan of hip hop that blends these sounds together, uses samples from these genres, or is just heavily *influenced* by them. *Low End Theory* is my favorite Tribe LP and one of my top ten hip hop albums of all time. Major props for picking that up. Literally cannot spin that thing enough. It's a masterpiece. Definitely check out the following albums if you haven't already. These are some of my favorite *Jazz Rap* and *jazz infused* hip hop albums. - *Hand on the Torch* by Us3 - *Jazzmataz Vol. 1* by Guru - *Shades of Blue* by Madlib - *Bizarre Ride II* by The Pharcyde - *Do You Want More?!!!?* by The Roots Obviously you know your way around, so you may already be familiar with these artists and albums, but I feel the need to recommend them anyways - because I can't risk having you (or someone else who comes on this sub) missing out on some more quality *Jazz Hop* And for anyone browsing here that isn't familiar with Native Tongues - you're missing out! Tribe was part of a jazzy hip hop collective called Native Tongues which also included the groups De La Soul? Black Sheep, and The Jungle Brothers. If you want to hear some more music that is similar to ATCQ, definitely check out these other bands and get into their discographies as well. I personally think that Tribe is the cream of the crop, but there's certainly some gems to be found from these other artists as well. Also, I actually just made a Spotify playlist last night for a user on the hip hop heads sub who was looking to get into older Tribe (he was only familiar with their most recent album) and music that is similar. [Here](https://open.spotify.com/user/apeshitmusic/playlist/56nlbiHtMFx2JDosjpFK2o?si=AmaYEAB8SlWTGtL91p4ZYw) is a link to that playlist if anyone is interested. It's not really that much *Jazz Rap* as I tried to pick mostly easily accessible stuff to serve as a bit of a gateway drug lol so it's more of *jazz influenced* material and some artists that have similar flow from that time period. If anyone checks it out, make sure to shuffle the playlist as the trucks are bunched together by artist otherwise. Cheers!
