I was watching [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=111&v=3Gmex_4hreQ) about the loudness war and wondered if I could get some data to substantiate the "things are getting louder" claim. A bit of an arbitrary data set and perhaps we just _like_ louder music later on? Either way ... there seems to be an interesting correlation here! The data was source from the [Spotify Web API](https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/) And the tracks came from the [Every Official UK Number 1 Ever](https://open.spotify.com/user/officialcharts/playlist/5GEf0fJs9xBPr5R4jEQjtw?si=QqyHMAN9RNqNGcHhTaK5KQ) playlist Everything else was done in [NodeJS](https://nodejs.org/en/) by hand. Each dot represents a data point and the line uses a linear moving average (16 samples either side)
