Hey Joks! It’s been a bit! Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happened since 2020: - Imprint Compilations are over. Monstercat wants to find other ways of celebrating music, plus there was not enough income towards comps. We’ve seen Uncaged release Volumes 9, 10 and 11 (11 has 85 tracks!) and Instinct release Volumes 5, 6 and 7. They’ve been doing monthly mixes starting this year to showcase snippets of tracks over the month to kind of fill the void of comps but they could do better imo. - Monstercat had their 9 year and 10 year anniversaries, releasing 6 covers of 90’s-themed tracks on the 9 year album and 18 unreleased tracks from “the Monstercat vault” on the 10 year album. Both are worth checking out! - I know you were into Rocket League, and Monstercat still releases music on their radio. Since 2020, they released the Radical Summer album, compilations 6 and 7 with 10 tracks each, and a Legacy album with 8 remixes and VIPs of tracks from the original RLxM compilations. - Of course, they still do the Best Of compilations. They changed to allow voting for all songs and not limiting the amount of artists, but still kept it to 40 tracks (not sure it was the best idea lmao) but if anything I would start there for tracks to catch up on! - Obviously you know about Silk. Monstercat merged with them and became their third imprint at the start of 2021, releasing house, chillout, downtempo, some trance and an occasional drum & bass. You might not be into it, but it’s worth checking out. If you’re into Melodic Bass/Dubstep, I’d look into tracks from Au5, Ace Aura, Bossfight, Chime, Crankdat, Fransis Derelle, Leah Culver, OBLVYN, Pixel Terror, Sabai, Slippy, Sullivan King, Whales, and some of Koven, and I’d also check out the SLANDER Potions remixes if you missed those, lots of meldub!
