The band I’d like to hype is Black Ends, a Black-fronted rock band from Seattle. The guitar and vocals from Nicolle Swims are mind-blowing and her guitarwork switches seamlessly from Salad Days/jazz guitar noodling to post-punk cacophony depending on the song and the part of the song. Try out [monday mourning](https://blackends.bandcamp.com/track/monday-mourning-2), which I believe was written in honor of George Floyd. I also want to plug the hardcore band OBGMs, who make [awesome music](https://open.spotify.com/album/2xY1XseDL8vVO8TLofNbXm?si=APDDbk_sRZmt2N9_Qy12Ng&dl_branch=1) in addition to an [amazing playlist](https://open.spotify.com/user/theobgms/playlist/6qs8CJcENZlMeC5SmNytUA?si=LaMA_r8yRguUaiJcekdZXQ&dl_branch=1) featuring Black alternative artists, which is how I found Black Ends. I’ve mentioned this before on a DMD if it seems familiar, but it’s really worth checking out. Happy Hype Thursday and happy Juneteenth!
