[NOW That’s What I Call Indieheads Music!](https://open.spotify.com/user/dalee78/playlist/75LCBijbXtswgBs6HDVIK1?si=9FTZp3A_QhyF6vVg_G7FkA) Sadly the mods wouldn't let me self-post this, but I put a fair amount of effort into this playlist. I hope it might serve as a useful and manageable 83-minute introduction to indieheads-approved music for the truly indie-clueless. Or just use it to convince your normie friends how amazing indie music is! I used fairly specific criteria in creating in this list: 1) Popularity of the song, as measured by number of Spotify plays, supplemented by the Billboard Hot 100. 2) How much the music is liked by /r/indieheads, as measured by the Essentials list. 3) Post-2000 music only. I also placed a firm cap of exactly 22 songs since that is the standard length of a NOW album. The first criterion is why you will not see LCD or Sufjan (sorry). Most of these song have over 100M Spotify plays. (The exceptions are fairly iconic and still have 50M plays.) The second criterion is why you won’t see songs by Foster the People or Gotye. All but 2 artists on this list have an album on the Essentials list (and the exceptions at least made the Essentials ballot, and the 2 songs are very popular indie songs).
