A couple YouTube channels I like are: DirtyBiology: https://youtu.be/ehmyaX0lJew (it's a fun science oriented channel, but it covers other topics too) C'est une autre histroire: https://youtu.be/fBYC8qv3gjg (covers fun historical topics) Here's a couple Spotify playlists I like listening to: Acoustic music: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7EqYsLBppaVKUYT748dXmj?si=_A975ZIDSgOhybU7TKpSgQ&utm_source=copy-link Indie pop: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/15Q2HQeF9n35Yq8BRcViZq?si=6_myk8x-SeuXazLKdPJcMA&utm_source=copy-link Exploring local radio stations in France is really fun on the radio garden app: http://radio.garden/ The radio station France inter is sort of like npr in the US and you can find it in Paris on radio garden. A couple fun shows on Netflix are: Dix Pour Cent (it's about a movie agency and it is a little similar to Entourage in the sense that lots of famous French actors have cameos) A Very Secret Service (a goofy comedy about a spy agency in the 60s) If you get a VPN you can also watch lots of shows in French. I had some fun watching pokemon in French just to see what all the different punny names for pokemon were in French The DirtyBiology guy also wrote a book called le coup de la girafe which is a book of fun anecdotes about animals (the title is a pun, since "cou" is neck but coup is being used sort of like we'd use coup de grace in the US. Coup and cou are pronounced the same. That section of the book talks about why giraffes have long necks to begin with, but there are lots of other stories) I am a fluent Romanian speaker and I started French similar to what you are doing. In my personal experience the grammar is a tad easier than other romance languages but pronunciation takes more practice. I found memorizing song lyrics was a great way to figure out the pronunciation early on since I don't have many chances to converse in French with folks. I also found listening to talk radio on radio garden was super helpful to fall asleep to and helped with my decoding of spoken words (it took a while for my ear to pick apart the individual words since I wasn't too familiar with French to begin with). Business radio was easiest to start with because there are tons of borrowed words (like the word "business"). Bfm business (also in Paris on radio garden) was super helpful, even if the conversations themselves weren't the most interesting. I also loved the ads on radio because the annunciation of every word is super clear. There is tons of fun stuff out there. French has a massive footprint on the internet so no shortage of things to enjoy. Happy frenching :)
